Nottingham Forest take on Wolves tonight in the second round of the Carabao Cup. The Reds defeated Bradford City to get to this stage and will now face Premier League opposition.

Chris Hughton has overseen four straight defeats in the Championship. The boss desperately needs to lift spirits ahead of a big game on Saturday against Derby County.

Ahead of tonight’s game, we looked at the starting eleven that the boss might call upon for the visit of Premier League opposition.

In goal and back four

Ethan Horvath will start the game in goal after featuring in the first round.

Fin Back has been in fine form and he could get the nod to start again. On the left, Jayden Richardson could come in, with Gaetan Bong preserved for Saturday.

Baba Fernandes and Riley Harbottle were both not involved for the under-23 outfit last night and should start here.

James Garner will feature and he should get the nod to start and get some minutes under his belt tonight.

Alongside him, Tyrese Fornah could get a rare outing. He was fantastic in the first round win and Hughton might save Ryan Yates and Jack Colback for Saturday.

In attack

Alex Mighten could play on the right-hand side of the attack, with Joao Carvalho hoping to add to his two goals against Bradford from the No.10 position.

Philip Zinckernagel is already a big player for Forest and he could start too. Hughton will want to put some first-team players out to at least make the game competitive.

In attack, it could be a rare start for Nuno Da Costa. He hasn’t featured in the league yet this season and the 30-year-old might get the chance to impress here.

Here is how tonight’s team might shape up:
