Nottingham Forest were thumped 4-0 by Wolves at the City Ground last night as Bruno Lage’s men ran riot on Trentside. Goals from Romain Saiss, Daniel Podence, Trincao and Morgan Gibbs-White ensured a comprehensive rout for the top-flight side. After the game, Forest supporters raved about Joao Moutinho for his efforts.

The 34-year-old has been with Wolves since 2018. He checked in from Monaco and has enjoyed a decent time of things in England. He looks to be in favour with the new manager too, starting all three of the team’s fixtures since he arrived.

Moutinho glided around the City Ground turf akin to Anton Du Buke when he gets to the Blackpool Ballroom during a Strictly Come Dancing series last night. Forest’s youngster – and Jack Colback – had very little in the way of response to his performance.

The Reds are in trouble. Forest don’t have a point from their opening four games and are now out of the Carabao Cup at the second hurdle. Quite simply, Chris Hughton faces a fight for his future as manager of the team.

Forest are miles away from Wolves. Although their team was built with millions of pounds, it offered the Reds a stark reminder of just how far they have fallen.

What did Forest fans say about Wolves star Moutinho?

Seeing players such as the man with 135 caps for Portugal isn’t a weekly occurrence on Trentside. As a result, supporters really enjoyed watching Moutinho in action last night.

He was in tremendous form for Lage’s team. The Reds midfield couldn’t handle him as he sprayed balls around the park all evening.

Moutinho is a fine player. Of course, nobody expected to see Forest win once the team sheet was revealed but supporters were in awe of the £100,000-a-week player from the off.

As a result, the Reds fan base were amazed. Here is what they had to say as Moutinho and Wolves put Forest to the sword and sent them packing in the Carabao Cup.
