Nottingham Forest have been handed a fitness boost over Arsenal youngster Jordi Osei-Tutu. He has taken to Instagram today to provide what looks to be a positive update.
The Reds added the Hale End graduate to their ranks shortly after the 2021/22 campaign got underway. He featured against Bournemouth but was then injured in the game against Blackburn.
He sat out the games against Stoke and Derby but could now be on the mend. Osei-Tutu has posted that he is back in training and that could bode well.
Forest desperately need the youngster back. He looked sharp during the game he played and even claimed the Man of the Match accolade.
The Reds take on Cardiff and Middlesbrough after the international break, with Chris Hughton still looking to oversee his first victory of the campaign.
Osei-Tutu spent time on loan with the Bluebirds last season. Injury scuppered his chance of more games there and he’ll hope to avoid similar frustrations at Forest.
Hughton utilised the 22-year-old at left-back during the two games he played in. It’s not his natural position, although having that versatility makes him a useful addition to the matchday squad.
Osei-Tutu could prove vital to Forest during 2021/22
Forest will be desperate to get the on-loan Arsenal man back on the pitch. He has pace to burn and loves to get forward to assist with attacks in the final third.
Being able to play in both full-back positions is useful. Forest have added Max Lowe to play at left-back, but Gaetan Bong’s days in the team are surely numbered.
If this cryptic Instagram post is anything to go by, Osei-Tutu looks to be stepping up his recovery.
With over a week until the Reds next take to the field he still has plenty of time to recover from his hamstring problem.
Hughton will hope to have him available on Sunday week against Cardiff.
