Tyler Blackett left Nottingham Forest in the summer to sign for FC Cincinnati. The left-back was allowed to leave the City Ground to rejoin former Reading manager Jaap Stam. Now, he’s finally checked in and Jesse Lingard and Lyle Taylor have reacted on Instagram.

Although the deal has been announced by Forest for some time, Blackett underwent an operation in the summer. That delayed him being officially unveiled by the MLS side, although he’s now confirmed his arrival.

Blackett arrived on a free transfer after leaving Reading in the summer of 2020. He failed to really force his way into the team and spent a lot of the season injured. The 27-year-old left Forest with just 16 appearances to his name.

He checked into the City Ground with a decent pedigree. He had helped Reading to a Play-Off Final, whilst he’s also turned out for Birmingham, Celtic and even made 12 appearances for Manchester United.

What have Lingard and Taylor said about former Forest man Blackett?

Lingard has chosen to fight for an Old Trafford place this season. He was desperately impressive for West Ham on loan during the second half of 2020/21 but couldn’t agree on a permanent transfer.

He played with Blackett at United and he has sent a two-word message to congratulate the player on his new move.

Taylor featured alongside the versatile defender last term on Trentside. Like Blackett, the striker has struggled for form at Forest too and he’ll hope to prove himself to Forest fans this season.

He sent a four-word message and two emojis after Blackett officially signed for Stam’s men. It seems as though he was a popular member of the Forest dressing room with Alex Mighten also sending him a good luck message.
