Nottingham Forest squandered a potential win against Cardiff City, dropping a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 at the City Ground – though Max Lowe did impress.
Forest desperately needed a result after just one point in the first five games of the season.
Armed with new signings Djed Spence and Lowe, Forest were energetic in the first half and took the lead.
Lowe made the goal, rampaging up the left flank before cutting back for Grabban. Grabban swept the ball past Dillon Phillips and sent the City Ground bonkers.
The key for Forest was managing the second half, but they switched off after Cardiff City substitutions.
Rubin Colwill came on and scrambled home the equaliser, before firing Cardiff in front with around 20 minutes to play.
Forest just couldn’t rally themselves, falling to a fifth defeat in six Championship games this season.
Forest fans will be feeling glum right now, and likely wondering whether Chris Hughton makes it past Monday morning.
There was something to feel positive about though, and that was the performance of new signing Lowe.
The left back, snapped up on loan from Sheffield United, was a constant threat down the left flank.
Lowe not only made the goal but was one of few players in the second half that were trying to get Forest moving.
Fans have been taking to Twitter to praise Lowe, branding him ‘absolute class’.
Some felt that Lowe was Forest’s man of the match by some distance.
Others believe Gaetan Bong should simply look to leave Forest, as Lowe has already proven that he is superior.
