Nottingham Forest lead Cardiff City 1-0 at half time, with Max Lowe making a real impression on his debut at the City Ground.
Forest are desperate for points after a dismal start, and look on course for a result today.
Lewis Grabban put Forest ahead, sweeping home from inside the box after a fine run up the left flank from Max Lowe.
Cardiff have posed a threat at times, and Forest will have to be on their guard after the break.
Summer signings have made a real impact for Forest today. Djed Spence has settled in well at right back, James Garner has been composed in midfield and Philip Zinckernagel has been a threat down the right.
Max Lowe impressive on Forest debut
Lowe has been excelled down the left flank though.
Left back has been a problem area for Forest, and Lowe looks a million miles clear of Gaetan Bong based on that first-half showing.
The loan signing from Sheffield United has worked well in tandem with Brennan Johnson down the left.
Johnson’s ability to go either way has opened up space for Lowe on the overlap, and the duo drew praise from Keith Andrews on Sky Sports.
Andrews stated late in the first half that he really likes Forest’s left side combination, and believes that winger Johnson can only get stronger – especially with a quality player like Lowe behind him.
“I do like that left hand side, I think it’s got a lot of promise, I really do,” said Andrews. “He can only get stronger and stronger, Brennan Johnson,” he added.
