Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Millwall in Steve Cooper’s first game in charge of the club yesterday. Max Lowe gave the Reds a share of the spoils as he scored an outrageous fluke to cancel out Matt Smith’s opener.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form since signing on loan from Sheffield United. He has now played four games, scoring once and registering one assist.

Yesterday, the wing-back was largely impressive. He looks at home in the wing-back role and seemed to link up quite nicely with Scott McKenna.

Forest are slowly but surely starting to climb the Championship table. Cooper now has two games on the road ahead of the international break next month.

Lowe ended up at Forest after falling way down the pecking order at Bramall Lane. He made just 11 appearances for the Blades and couldn’t convince Slavisa Jokanovic of his quality.

United’s loss is Forest’s gain, however. He has come into the Reds and really played with a point to prove.

Lowe does look somewhat more efficient playing as a wing-back and given Cooper’s preferred style that certainly bodes well.

If he continues shining there is a chance that Forest could get themselves the left-sided player on a permanent basis.

He looks unlikely to play much at United and on current form his permanent signing would be decent business by Forest.

What did Forest fans say about Lowe?

He might be a former Derby County academy graduate but Forest fans are loving Lowe in the Reds first team.

The youngster continues to star and yesterday he was decent at both ends of the pitch.

Lowe is accustomed to playing as a left-back or a left-sided wing-back, although his qualities do make him more proficient in the wing-back role.

Cooper will hope to continue getting a tune out of Lowe and here is what Forest supporters had to say on Twitter.
