Former Nottingham Forest loanee Billy Sharp silenced Derby County yesterday, scoring a late penalty during a 1-0 win over the Rams at Bramall Lane.

Afterwards, the striker went on the attack. He had received pelters from the travelling supporters all afternoon and turned the tables during his post-match interview.

Sharp spent a season on loan with Forest in 2012 and quickly adhered himself to the Forest fan base.

During his short-term stay on Trentside, he scored 11 goals and claimed five assists during 40 appearances for the Reds.

The Blades hero has now scored three goals in the Championship during 2021/22 and it’s fair to say he enjoyed his latest one.

He told the club’s official website: “I wish I could play against them every week. I think their fans were disrespectful today. I don’t mind stick but if they’re going to give me that all game then they deserve it back. I’m delighted I’ve scored because I don’t like them.”

Sharp has quickly become a legend at Bramall Lane. Since returning to the club he’s been in fine form and helped the club to the Premier League during the 2018/19 campaign.

In total, he’s found the net 115 times in 301 appearances for the Blades and is still banging them in even now at the age of 35.

Under Slavisa Jokanovic he could thrive and he’ll hope to play plenty more football as the season progresses.

What have Forest fans had to say about Sharp?

As if Derby needed anyone else to stick the knife in after the week they’ve had, now they’ve got a former Forest man chirping up.

Clearly, it’s gone down a treat with the Forest fan base and they’ve been quick to rave about Sharp on Twitter.

His outburst is somewhat comical and is exactly the sort of humour that the Reds faithful have grown to appreciate.

With that in mind, we looked at what Forest fans had to say as their former striker sticks the boot into Derby.
