Max Lowe scored his first Nottingham Forest goal at the weekend as the Reds drew 1-1 with Millwall. It was Steve Cooper’s first game in charge and gave Forest a much-needed point. After the game, Lowe received some Instagram praise from Ethan Ampadu and Oliver Burke.

Lowe checked in at the City Ground from Sheffield United last month. He had slipped way down the pecking order for the Blades and joined Forest on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old has looked handy in the four appearances he had made for Forest so far. He now has a goal to his name to go with an assist which he claimed against Cardiff during his debut.

Lowe hasn’t really made the grade at Sheffield United. In truth, however, he’s hardly played and does look like a pretty strange signing for the club.

He was signed in a double deal along with Jayden Bogle but has played just 11 times for Forest’s rivals in the Championship. Now, he will aim to make more an impact during his time at the City Ground.

What have Ampadu and Burke said about Forest player Lowe?

After his moment of outrageous fortune, two former Sheffield United teammates have taken to Instagram to praise his effort.

Ampadu returned to Chelsea in the summer but is now out on loan with Venezia in Italy. He summed up Lowe’s effort using one word, although his praise might have been tongue in cheek somewhat.

Burke came through the academy at Forest. He made just 31 appearances for the Reds, scoring six goals and claiming three assists for the first team.

He is still with the Blades and has made three outings in Slavisa Jokanovic’s team during 2021/22. The man who moves from Forest to RB Leipzig chose four words to sum up Lowe’s goal at the weekend.
