Manager Steve Cooper has named his Nottingham Forest team to play Barnsley in the Championship tonight, as per the club’s official Twitter account.
The full match squad is as follows:
Nottingham Forest starting XI: Samba, Worrall, Figueiredo, McKenna; Spence, Garner, Yates, Lowe; Zinckernagel, Lolley, Johnson.
Nottingham Forest substitutes: Horvath, Bong, Colback, Carvalho, Mighten, Grabban, Taylor.
Forest won on the road last time out. The Reds beat Huddersfield Town and they’ll hope to claim another scalp in Yorkshire this evening.
Cooper oversaw a 1-1 draw with Millwall in his first game in charge on Saturday. Max Lowe’s first goal for the club cancelled out Matt Smith’s first-half header.
The surprise in tonight’s team sees Brennan Johnson feature as a striker, with Philip Zinckernagel and Joe Lolley out wide.
Lewis Grabban and Lyle Taylor are both only on the bench, with Gaetan Bong making a return to the bench too.
Tonight’s game is live on Sky Sports. Subscribers will need to tune into Sky Sports Arena and the coverage gets underway at 7:40pm.
Fan reaction to Forest team against Barnsley
Forest fans have unsurprisingly been reacting to Cooper’s decision to play Johnson up front.
Some love this decision, believing Johnson can offer more than Grabban or Taylor up top.
Others think it’s about time Johnson was given a chance as a striker, with real excitement about his role tonight.
