Nottingham Forest scored three for the second successive game as the Reds ran out 3-0 winners over struggling Birmingham City. After the game, Brice Samba came in for some praise from the club’s supporters.
The Congolese goalkeeper has struggled for form this season. Chris Hughton’s final act as the club’s manager was to drop Samba for the game against Middlesbrough.
Since he departed, the stopper has claimed two clean sheets in games against Huddersfield and on Saturday at Birmingham.
He produced a fine performance against the Blues. One save in particular close to the end of the contest was terrific, with Samba making a one-handed stop to preserve his shutout.
Samba checked in at Forest from Caen in 2019. He really caught the eye following his arrival, showcasing unbelievable talent and nearly helping Forest to the play-offs in his first season.
Last season wasn’t quite as successful but Samba is clearly in confidence going into the latest international break. The 27-year-old has a contract at Forest until 2023 and he is a popular figure among the club’s supporters.
Samba being dropped earlier in the campaign clearly had the desired effect. He’s not edging back to his best and that bodes well for Forest.

Steve Cooper has come in and he’s rediscovering his very best form as he tries to showcase his talents to his new manager.
Samba was occasionally loose last season and certainly earlier this season he cost Forest some goals.
