Nottingham Forest defender Rodrigo Ely has explained what he will do if he scores a goal at the City Ground.
The experienced centre-back has responded to a Forest supporter on Twitter after scoring a worldie with Ely on FIFA 22.
Ely checked in on a free transfer this summer shortly after the transfer window had slammed shut.
The 27-year-old was most recently playing for Alaves in Spain. He made 85 appearances there, scoring five goals.
Ely has also turned out for AC Milan, Varese Calcio, US Avelino and Reggina during his career.
As a central defender, his arrival doesn’t seem to make much sense for Forest.
The club has a plethora of defensive options, although with a new strategy in place his arrival perhaps makes more sense.
Tobias Figueiredo, Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna have been playing as a three-man defensive unit under Steve Cooper.
With Loic Mbe Soh currently injured, Ely could find himself propelled to the bench after the international break.
The defender is busy getting his fitness up and with a fortnight’s extra preparation he may make the squad against Blackpool.
What has Ely said in response to Forest supporter?
One fan has been busy playing as Forest on the new FIFA 22 which was released by EA Sports last week.
He tweeted Ely to let him know that he had scored a long-range effort during his time playing the game.
It might only be a video game but boy was this a worldie. If Ely can find one of those in the locker during his time at the City Ground, supporters will be in their element.
He’s basically responded with how he’ll react if he can transform his virtual form into the real world.
Forest fans are yet to see Ely in the Garibaldi and supporters will hope to do so in the coming weeks.
