Nottingham Forest could miss out on the chance to get one over a former foe of theirs this weekend. Ex-Derby County star Richard Keogh could miss the trip to Trentside this weekend through injury.

The central defender has a groin problem and is viewed as doubtful for the in-form Tangerines. Keogh moved to Blackpool in the summer after finishing last season with Huddersfield.

Keogh has a love-hate relationship with Forest. He tried to assault Ryan Yates for celebrating after a 1-0 win when Martin O’Neill was in charge.

The following season he left the Forest players alone; this time trying to pick a fight with the club’s groundsman as he warmed down following a 3-0 win for Forest.

Keogh has been a regular in the Tangerines team this season. He is looking to revive his career following a knee injury that threatened to curtail his career.

Neil Critchley has some big problems this weekend. Shayne Lavery has been bang in form and he’s also struggling to be fit for this week.

One man who is definitely ruled out of the trip to Forest is goalkeeper Chris Maxwell. The stopper was forced off during the win over Blackburn with a thigh problem.

That means that either Stuart Moore or Dan Grimshaw will come into the fold when Blackpool arrived in Nottingham.

Forget Keogh, Forest must focus on themselves against Blackpool

It would have been nice for supporters to give Keogh a resounding boo this weekend but ultimately Forest have some business to take care of.

After a horrendous start to the campaign, the Reds are now playing catch-up on the teams above them. With that in mind, three points needs to be the order of the day on Saturday.

Blackpool are in form but so are Forest. The Reds have scored six goals in their last two games and they’ll be in confident form going into the game.

Under Steve Cooper, the Reds are a different animal and they’ll fancy their chances this weekend whether Keogh makes it or not.
