Forest take on Blackpool this weekend and Lewis Grabban might just be in the mood to continue his fine run of form.
The 33-year-old talisman is busy silencing his critics during 2021/22. He has found the net four times this season, despite some fans feeling certain his best days had been and gone.
Grabban has hit goals against Cardiff, Huddersfield, Barnsley and Birmingham to help lift the Reds off the bottom of the Championship.
He won’t want to stop there though. As a natural-born goalscorer, he will back himself to reach double figures as a minimum this season.
This weekend could see him rubbing his hands together. His good goalscoring form coincides with Blackpool visiting the City Ground and Grabban likes playing against them.
Having Grabban in confident spirits is a big plus for Forest. Prior to this season, supporters worried where the goals would come from during 2021/22.
Last season Grabban only managed six goals but in fairness, he spent lots of time injured and Chris Hughton’s style didn’t exactly favour strikers.
Forest can beat Blackpool with Grabban firing
Playing the way Steve Cooper wants Forest to play, the team shouldn’t fear anyone in this league. With Grabban bang in form, the team should always be capable of scoring goals.
Of course, silly little omens count for very little when the whistle goes on Saturday; although Grabban will probably be aware that he typically likes facing Blackpool.
Forest have to keep creating chances for the striker and if they do that the goals could start to roll even more freely.
It’s only two seasons since Grabban scored 20 goals for the Reds and in current form, there’s no reason he can’t hit the magic number once again this season.
