Nottingham Forest secured a remarkable victory against Bristol City, with Lyle Taylor scoring twice in injury time.
A goal from Alex Scott had Bristol City on course for a first home win for 265 days on home soil for Nigel Pearson’s side.
Forest deserved something though and played their part in an entertaining game. The Reds hit the post through Brennan Johnson and had a Lewis Grabban strike ruled out for offside.
Taylor stepped off the bench though, scoring a penalty in the first minute of injury time and tapping home a save Joe Lolley effort a moment later.
Taylor had scored once in 36 league games prior to this one and he will have enjoyed an opportunistic brace.
It sends Forest motoring up the Championship and under Cooper things look firmly on the up.
This was a timely win for the Reds given the level of opposition to come next. Fulham are on Trentside at the weekend, with QPR the following week.
What have Forest fans said about Taylor?
It’s fair to say they are absolutely delighted for him. In the month when he helps raise thousands for charity with his Pink for Cancer Research campaign, this was just the tonic.
Forest are now into the top half and a season of struggle looks unlikely at this stage.
Confidence is sky-high and with Taylor coming on to score twice, there is now competition for places in the attack.
Here we look at what has been said on Twitter after Forest’s late, late show in Bristol.
