The son of Evangelos Marinakis has heaped praise on Nottingham Forest after their stunning win over Bristol City.

Forest trailed going into injury time but a Lyle Taylor brace meant the Reds left the Ashton Gate with all three points.

Taylor wasn’t introduced from the bench until the 81st minute. He stepped up to score a penalty in the 91st minute; before tapping home the winner a moment later.

The 31-year-old scored his first goals for the club since the opening day of the season on a magical night for the club.

Forest are a different animal under Steve Cooper. The club now sits top of the Championship form table, with 13 points from five matches under the Welshman.

It’s a far cry from the seven games that Chris Hughton oversaw. The same group of players collected just one point from those contests.

Now, the team is brimming with confidence. Forest are playing some wonderful football and in every game, under Cooper, they’ve had a real go right until the final whistle.

Forest now have Fulham at home and QPR away to contest with and those games should provide really stern tests.

What has Miltiadis Marinakis said about Forest?

It would appear as though the son of Forest’s owner was at Ashton Gate last night. After the game, he filmed a video of the player celebrating with the away supporters.

He chose to sum up the evening using two words and he was clearly delighted with what he had just witnessed.

From afar Evangelos Marinakis will be pleased with the decision CEO Dane Murphy has made with regards to the choice of a new head coach.

Of course, it’s early days but the early signs are extremely good. Cooper has instilled some confidence, got his team playing football and ultimately Forest don’t know when they’re beaten.

Long may that continue…
