Lyle Taylor roared back into form with two goals in stoppage time as Nottingham Forest beat Bristol City. The Reds made it four wins in succession and four wins on the road on the trot. Afterwards, the striker earned praise from Max Lowe and Philip Zinckernagel.
Taylor has struggled for game time this season. He did score on the opening day of the season but since Lewis Grabban returned, he’s played second fiddle.
The 31-year-old is a likeable member of the Forest squad. He’s waited patiently for a chance under Steve Cooper and last night he offered a timely reminder of his quality.
Taylor is a proven Championship performer and he’d have hoped for a bigger impact at Forest. Prior to last night, he had scored just once in 36 appearances in the league.
Now, he has a real chance to kick on after gaining some much-needed confidence. The challenge for Taylor is to win himself a place in Cooper’s plans on a regular basis.
What have Zinckernagel and Lowe said about Forest hero Taylor?
Zinckernagel is a loan signing at Forest. He is on a temporary deal from Watford for the 2021/22 campaign and is looking like a pretty shrewd addition.
He has four assists to his name in the Championship and he’s been a regular in the team since Cooper arrived at the City Ground.
Zinckernagel had a two-word assessment of Taylor’s performance, choosing to mention the colour of his hair which is pink at the moment.
Lowe chose to mention Taylor as ‘Agent Taylor’. The Forest striker has been a big advocate for the club to sign the left-back permanently since he signed on loan.
Clearly the pair get on well together and he was quick to congratulate the 31-year-old on his late, late heroics at Ashton Gate.
