Jay Fulton has been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest and a report by SCFC2 might hand the Reds hope for the January transfer window.
The combative midfielder has fallen way down the pecking order under Russell Martin.
In the Championship during 2021/22, he has managed just 223 minutes. He captained the side during a 2-0 defeat to Brighton in the Carabao Cup but has played just 14 minutes since.

Last season he managed 47 appearances for the Swans as they reached the Championship play-off final.
Fulton was dismissed during the showpiece final that proved to be Steve Cooper’s last game as the Swansea boss.
As a result of that red card, he missed the first three games this season and that pushed him down the pecking order.
As the report from the Swansea fan site claims, he is now behind Matt Grimes Jamie Paterson, Korey Smith and Oliver Ntcham for a place in the midfield engine room.
Flynn Downes was a summer signing and along with Liam Walsh, those two have looked really good when called upon.
At 27, Fulton will want regular football. As also explained in the report, signing him will only be viable for Forest if he truly becomes surplus to requirements.
Where would Fulton fit in at Forest?
It does seem highly likely that Cooper will want to stamp his own authority on the squad once the transfer window opens.
As a result, it would be no surprise to see him target a few players that he knows and has worked with previously.
Interestingly, Forest have a plethora of midfield options themselves. Ryan Yates is the first choice, with Jack Colback and James Garner currently rotating next to him.

Behind those three there is Braian Ojeda waiting patiently, with Cafu and Tyrese Fornah further down the pecking order.
A new central midfielder might not be overly high on the list of priorities but if players were to leave, then perhaps Forest would like to sign Fulton.
