Nottingham Forest defeated Preston North End yesterday and in a remarkable turn of events, the Reds had four players named in the Team of the Week.

It’s become a trademark that Who Scored don’t give credit to Forest players. Yesterday, however, they were left with absolutely no choice following a dominant display.

A brace by Lewis Grabban and a goal from Jack Colback earned the Reds a big three points against Frankie McAvoy’s team.

Interestingly there was no place in the Team of the Week for Grabban. Instead, Who Scored named Keiffer Moore and Dominic Solanke as the two strikers.

There were places for four players though. Djed Spence, Joe Worrall, Scott McKenna and Colback all earned places among the select eleven.

Forest blew Preston away with a devastating first half which saw Grabban and Colback both score goals.

Forest have been bang in form under Steve Cooper. The Reds have claimed 21 points from 10 games that the new manager has overseen.

It is perhaps a shame that Forest gave the other Championship sides a seven-game headstart. Cooper, however, is doing his best to ensure that the Reds become competitive.

Win over Preston just the tonic for Forest

Three goals, a clean sheet and now four players in the Team of the Week. Things are looking up for Forest.

The Reds were slow starters during 2021/22 but now they look keen to make up for lost time.

Forest were brilliant in the win against Preston and quite clearly they’re a club in safe hands under Cooper.

All four of the players selected by Who Scored were worthy of their place and Cooper will hope his players can continue earning their selection as the season progresses.
