Nottingham Forest defeated Preston North End 3-0 at the City Ground. Lyle Taylor was introduced with 20 minutes remaining and he seemingly had a spat with Preston star Jordan Storey.

The Lilywhites defender was seemingly unhappy that Forest man Taylor had stood on his foot. It was a purely accidental incident and ultimately the Forest strike asked the player to toughen up.

The former Charlton man poked fun at the young Preston man for seemingly telling tales to the match referee. He also produced a comical face poking fun at Storey.

Taylor didn’t manage to get himself among the goalscorers on Saturday. He remains on three goals for the campaign and is striving for some consistency in his play.

He is a decent foil for Lewis Grabban, however, and his cameo against Preston was an energetic one that showcased his unbelievable work rate.

Taylor is a likeable member of the Forest dressing room and he’s a player that does look like he cares about doing well for the club.

Storey was introduced from the bench in the first half. Patrick Bauer picked up an injury and that proved seriously detrimental to Preston’s game plan.

Does Taylor have a role to play at Forest?

When he started against Sheffield United in midweek, the striker struggled to make an impact.

On Saturday, however, he was pretty lively from the bench and seemed determined to prove a point.

With Grabban bang in form, Taylor will have to continue in a backup role and he must remain ready if called upon.

The striker showcased at Bristol City last month that he’s capable if he’s given service and he’s a confident player.

With the games coming thick and fast after the international break, Taylor must be ready for his next Forest outing whenever it may come.
