A piece by Sheffield Star journalist James Sheild has claimed that Sheffield United might recall Max Lowe from Nottingham Forest, but Reds fans shouldn’t worry.
In today’s transfer obsessed world, there are all sorts of reports that emerge, although some get mixed up with opinions.
Some Forest fans have been losing their minds on Twitter after this article emerged but they really need to simmer a bit.
The article claimed that the Blades might try and double six Forest by recalling Lowe to throw them off the scent of Rhian Brewster.
In itself though that doesn’t really make sense. If United don’t want to offload Brewster then surely they can just tell Forest that he’s not available for transfer.
Recalling a defender to deter the Reds from persuing a striker really makes absolutely no sense at all.
Lowe has been inspired for Forest. He has made 11 appearances, scoring one goal and claiming two assists.
He is thriving in a wing-back role deployed by Steve Cooper and appears to be enjoying his football once again.
Lowe is on a season-long stint at the City Ground. On current form, the Reds would dearly love it to stay that way.
Forest fans should remain calm over Lowe
Sheffield United have Enda Stevens who plays at left wing-back and it seems unlikely that Lowe will oust him any time soon.
With that in mind, Forest fans would be wise not to take notice of every single piece they read regarding players.
The 24-year-old seems happy at Forest and playing every week will only aid his development.
It seems to us that recalling Lowe is an option, but one that would only be taken by United if something happened to Stevens.
The Blades have plenty of left-sided options. As a result, the best situation for all parties is for Lowe to stay at Forest.
