Nottingham Forest talent Dale Taylor made his international debut on Friday. He came on for the last 15 minutes as Northern Ireland beat Lithuania 1-0. Afterwards, he received praise from Fin Back and Liverpool gem Conor Bradley on Instagram
Taylor hasn’t made a first-team appearance at the City Ground yet. Despite that, he was handed a place in the Northern Ireland squad by Ian Baraclough when he named his group.
The striker checked in at Forest from Linfield in the summer of 2020. Just three months after signing he was handed a professional contract by the Reds.
HE rose to fame in his homeland by scoring for Linfield at the age of 15. Forest liked Taylor when they scouted him and promptly got him in place at the City Ground.
Taylor was a regular in the under-23 ranks last year and often placed himself on the score sheet. He is lively, quick and comes alive in the penalty area.
Northern Ireland take on Italy in midweek and the Forest man will hope to be handed another chance to impress by Baraclough.
The Reds’ under-23s missed Taylor on Friday as Andy Reid’s men slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.
What have Back and Bradley said about Forest gem Taylor?
Short and sweet is the order of the day here.
Back played four times for the first team earlier in the campaign and he has taken to Twitter to sum up his emotions with just three emojis.
Bradley is rated highly at Liverpool and the right-back also featured in Friday’s game for Northern Ireland.
He summed up his emotions using two words and he couldn’t wait to congratulate Forest starlet Taylor.
The challenge now for the Forest man is to force his way into Steve Cooper’s team. Given his ability, it shouldn’t be too long.
