Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe was linked with a move to Nottingham Forest from PSG during the summer and now they might have been boosted in their attempts to sign him.

Foot Mercato linked with the Reds with a move for the talented youngster. Forest’s attempts were knocked back though and Mauricio Pochettino called upon him in the early exchanges of the 2021/22 campaign.

He’s featured five times in the blue of PSG this term but amid a plethora of elite players, he has now fallen down the pecking order somewhat.

L’Equipe, via GFFN, are now claiming that Ebimbe is keen to leave the club during the January transfer window.

The central midfielder doesn’t believe he has been given enough chances to impress and is considering a move for regular first-team football.

That could be music to the ears of Forest. It was unsure during the summer whether or not PSG would be interested in selling their youngster, or look to loan him out.

The Frenchman only has a contract until 2023 and as a result, perhaps Pochettino will consider selling the 21-year-old.

Ebimbe was wanted by Birmingham, Bristol City and Saint-Etienne during the summer transfer window.

Future star: Ebimbe could thrive at Forest

This really would be a remarkable signing. The Reds would perhaps welcome another midfielder and Ebimbe could be an ideal recruit.

At 21 he has tasted first-team football and he’d perhaps welcome the chance of heading to the Championship and signing for Forest.

Ebimbe typically operates through the middle but he can also play out wide.

If he did head to Forest he would emulate Loic Mbe Soh who also swapped the PSG ranks for the City Ground.

Forest will undoubtedly search for reinforcements during January.

Steve Cooper’s record of nurturing young talent might just tempt the Reds back into the race to sign Ebimbe.
