Nottingham Forest were held to a 1-1 draw on the road as Reading came from behind to earn a share of the spoils, with Philip Zinckernagel bang in form.

Zinckernagel gave the Reds a first-half lead after a dazzling run ended with him firing home with his right foot.

The Danish attacker was in fine form throughout the contest and could have finished the game with more goals to show for his efforts.

Zinckernagel had been quiet for the last month but in fairness, the international break clearly did him the world of good.

The 26-year-old has proved a pretty strong loan signing from Watford and Forest will hope to keep him for the remainder of the campaign.

Zinckernagel now has three goals to his name in the red of Forest, with four assists also coming from him.

Sadly, it would seem as though the chances of signing him permanently would be slim.

The versatile forward signed a five-year contract with Watford when he signed for them from Bodo/Glimt in January 2021.

As a result, Forest will have to enjoy his qualities for now and then see how the land lies when it comes to the summer.

What have Forest fans said about Zinckernagel?

The Reds faithful are delighted to see the Watford owned player make a decent return to form during yesterday’s game.

He has been pretty quiet of late and hadn’t weighed in with a goal contribution since the win over Birmingham in October when he grabbed two assists.

His showing yesterday was much more like his usual self and fans will now hope he can stay in some form in the coming weeks.

Here is what Forest fans had to say as Zinckernagel fired the Reds into an early lead at Reading.
