Nottingham Forest take on Luton at the City Ground tonight and supporters hope that Andy Reid has given away a selection hint ahead of the game regarding Tyrese Fornah.
Tyrese Fornah wasn’t included in his Forest Under-23 team last night as they lost 3-1 to Newcastle at Alfreton Town’s ground.
Forest got off to a disastrous start. First Elliot Anderson scored a penalty and eight minutes later, the Reds had goalkeeper Nicky Hogarth sent off.
Anderson would go on to complete a hat-trick with two goals in the second half before Lewis Salmon scored a late consolation goal.
It was Fornah’s absence that caused the biggest stir on Twitter though, with plenty believing he’ll be involved tonight.
Forest will be light in midfield for the visit of the Hatters. Ryan Yates is suspended, with Braian Ojeda still some way short of match practice.
The Reds go into tonight’s game knowing that a win could move them up the Championship and into the top half.
Fornah has waited patiently for a Forest chance and has come off the bench in the Championship this season.
He’s yet to make a squad under Steve Cooper though and perhaps tonight might see that trend come to an end.
Fornah spent last season in League One with Plymouth and he might have hoped to feature more for the Reds this season.
What have Forest fans said about Fornah?
It’s clear that many supporters feel that he has been badly underused during the 2021/22 campaign.
Although Cooper has overseen some good results there really was no excuse at all for Chris Hughton not to have given him a go.
Fornah is at the age now where he needs to be playing regularly and plenty of Forest fans hope to see him tonight.
Here is what they had to say on Twitter after last night’s no show for the under-23s.
