Reputable journalist and former Sky Sports reporter Adam Leventhal was a spectator as Nottingham Forest drew with Luton Town last night – and he raved about Brice Samba.

The Reds were held to a goalless draw and had Brice Samba to thank for saving a second-half Elijah Adebayo penalty.

It was a stunning performance from the 27-year-old and Leventhal was mightily impressed; comparing him to NFL star Odell Beckham Jr!

That comparison was in reference to a gorgeous one-handed catch that Samba produced in the first half.

He also produced a stunning reflex save late in the day to help the 10-men of Forest over the line in their quest to preserve a point.

After the game, Samba rightly lapped up the applause from the City Ground faithful and this was a nice return to form.

Samba didn’t start this season in the best of form. During the first six games of the season, his game was riddled with errors and that saw Chris Hughton drop him for his final game in charge.

Clearly, that’s had the desired effect though as since Steve Cooper came into the club, he’s been absolutely brilliant more often than not.

Last night saw his critics silenced and long may that continue as the Forest keeper strives for consistency.

Talented: Samba silences Forest critics

The Congolese stopper is a decent custodian at Forest’s level and he does bail the Reds out more often than not.

Perhaps he does have some way to go in order to emulate Beckham Jr but his one-handed takes from the sky are certainly unorthodox, to say the least.

Forest star Samba kept the ball out of the net last night though and that is all that matters. It was his fourth clean sheet of the campaign and he’ll now be striving for more.
