Nottingham Forest drew 0-0 for the second successive time against West Brom on Friday, with Joe Worrall a man showing some seriously good form.
The 24-year-old centre-back was at the heart of everything good defensively during a spirited point for the Reds.
Worrall has played in every game since missing the first five games of the season through injury and has captained the side on a few occasions.
The defender is one of Forest’s own and boy did he showcase that on a bitterly cold Friday night in the West Midlands.
Worrall might not have been at Forest this season. The player recently claimed that he was all set for a move to the Premier League during the transfer window.
A move to an unnamed club fell south though after they signed another centre-back at the eleventh hour.
Worrall has made 153 appearances for the Reds during his career. He emerged through the City Ground ranks and also played 32 times on loan for Rangers.
There he developed tough skin and that period of his career has made him a revelation at Forest.
He was the real Reds standout on Friday and this was definitely a point gained against a side who were in the Premier League last season.
What did Forest fans say about Worrall?
It’s fair to say they were desperately impressed with his performance levels. Worrall was part of everything good in the second half, particularly when the Baggies went down to 10-men.
The 24-year-old really does warm himself to the Forest faithful with these types of performances and it really was a sight for sore eyes at The Hawthorns.
There aren’t too many better partnerships than Worrall and Scott McKenna in the Championship; whilst Tobias Figueiredo makes up the three quite nicely too.
After a dominant defensive display, here is what the Forest fan base had to say about the brilliance of Worrall.
