Brennan Johnson has told the Nottingham Forest website that he hopes to kick on for the rest of this season and supporters want him to sign a new deal.

The versatile forward boasts exciting qualities and he’s grown in the Forest team during the 2021/22 campaign.

Last season he fired 13 goals and registered 14 assists during a loan spell with Lincoln City.

During his 20 outings during the current campaign, Johnson has fired three goals and claimed as many assists.

Despite not being a bad return, it seems likely that the 20-year-old is craving more and hopes to get himself among the contributions again.

He told the club’s official website: “I’m really enjoying my football. Every game I play for this club is a dream and hopefully, I can get some more assists and goals for the fans to enjoy.”

Johnson has played in a number of positions for Forest this season. He can operate on either flank, as a number 10, or as a striker through the middle.

At 20 he boasts bags of energy and he’s more than capable of showing defenders a clean set of heels with his undeniable pace.

What have Forest fans said about Johnson?

It’s clear that plenty of the Reds fan base are getting anxious about Johnson and his contract situation. The youngster will have just a year to run on his deal when the summer arrives.

With that in mind, the club has to get something sorted and tie him down; if only to preserve his substantial valuation to any potential suitors.

Johnson has box office quality on his day and ultimately the Reds can’t afford to lose him on the cheap at any point.

There was plenty of interest in his services during the summer transfer window and Forest supporters hope the club can keep Johnson.
