Nottingham Forest face a big game against Peterborough this weekend as they look to return to winning ways.

The Reds have drawn all three of their games since the return of domestic action following the international break.

Forest drew 0-0 with West Brom last Friday and it proved their second successive goalless draw in succession.

The Reds will see this weekend’s game against Darren Ferguson’s strugglers as a big chance to claim another victory.

For one man in the visitors’ camp, there could be a chance for him to show Forest exactly what they missed out on.

Former midfielder Jorge Grant could line up against Forest for the first time since leaving the club in 2019.

The man who rose through the academy ranks signed for Peterborough during the summer.

Last season, he was a teammate of Brennan Johnson’s at Lincoln City. The pair helped the Imps reach the League One play-off final, with Grant the club captain.

Posh activated his release clause during the summer and handed him a chance to establish himself in the Championship.

So far during 2021/22 he has made 16 appearances, scoring once and claiming three assists.

He has been an unused substitute during the last two games, however, and Grant will hope to get back involved this weekend.

Talent: Grant ran out of time to impress Forest

The midfielder did make 20 appearances for the Reds, scoring a famous goal during a League Cup defeat against Tottenham.

After impressing with Notts County and Mansfield on loan there was always going to be a time when Grant needed to play regular football.

Lincoln gave him that chance and he hasn’t looked back, earning a move to the Championship in the summer.

Grant was always technically very good during his time at the City Ground.

Perhaps the only uncertainty was his physical presence and ultimately that probably robbed him of a fairer crack of the whip.

It’s no surprise that Grant has kicked his career on and the aim for him now is to become a seasoned Championship performer.

Forest fans will hope he doesn’t showcase too much talent this weekend.
