Nottingham Forest beat Peterborough United 2-0 at the City Ground yesterday as the Reds returned to winning ways.

Goals by James Garner and Ryan Yates ensured the three points in a game that proved less than convincing for Forest.

With the scores level at 0-0, Siriki Dembele struck the post after brushing off Joe Worrall and things could have been different for Forest.

Ultimately, the Reds showed an inner belief to win the game though and on-loan Manchester United man Garner was particularly impressive.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

The 20-year-old checked in at the City Ground in August and before yesterday he had struggled to replicate his form from last season.

In recent weeks he’s been working up to this performance. Yesterday, he thoroughly deserved his City Ground goal.

Garner joined from Manchester United having scored four times in 20 appearances last season and he was a diamond during his previous loan.

Yesterday, he highlighted just how useful he can be and he looks a big part of Steve Cooper’s plans for the remainder of this season.

What did Forest supporters say about Garner?

They were fairly convinced after yesterday that the Garner that Forest supporters know and love was firmly back.

He threw himself in to the game and showcased an elegant touch to fire Forest into the lead after Lewis Grabban had fluffed his lines from six yards out.

Garner is a beautiful player in full flight and yesterday was arguably his defining moment in a Forest shirt.

He scored when the chips were down and after his performance; he can expect more opportunities to be thrown his way by Cooper.

Some supporters took to Twitter and here is what some fans had to say about the performance of Garner as Forest defeated Peterborough.
