Nottingham Forest winger Xande Silva is a loan target for Aris, despite playing just 24 minutes of football for the Reds.
According to Greek outlet FWS, the Reds forward is wanted by the club that had him on loan during the 2020/21 campaign.
Silva left West Ham to sign for Forest for £200,000 during transfer deadline day in the summer.
He made just two appearances for the Hammers and spent a large amount of his time out on loan.
The 24-year-old made 33 appearances for Aris last season, scoring four goals and claiming three assists.
It was anticipated that he’d bolster the attacking ranks at the City Ground but he’s yet to make a single squad under Steve Cooper.
In recent weeks the head coach has claimed that Silva is part of the daily training group; suggesting that every day is an opportunity.
The staggering part of the report is that Aris have a stumbling block on any potential deal given the size of Silva’s salary.
Silva has a contract at Forest until the summer of 2023.
Sell: Forest should wash their hands of Silva
When will certain people at Nottingham Forest Football Club learn?
This deal smacks of Ioannis Vrentzos and as it was done late in the day on deadline day, reeks of desperation.
Forest might not have given Silva a silly contract but the money could have been spent going towards keeping some of the club’s bright young talents.
The versatile player has been a complete waste of a place in the Forest squad. Since arriving, Cooper has clearly been unimpressed with him too.
Aris tried to sign Silva before Forest landed him but encountered a stumbling block over his wages.
If the Reds can do a deal where they get the Portuguese performer off their books in January, it would suit all parties.
