Nottingham Forest went eighth in the Championship with a 4-1 thrashing of Swansea City yesterday. Jordi Osei-Tutu returned to the Reds’ team for the first time since August. After the game, the youngster received praise from Arsenal talented Folarin Balogun and Eddie Nketiah on Instagram.

The Reds were sensational in South Wales. Goals from Philip Zinckernagel, Lewis Grabban, Brennan Johnson and Cafu ensured a happy return to Swansea for Steve Cooper.

With the game goalless at half-time, the game was on a knife-edge. Forest were unbelievably good in the second 45 though and claimed a massive three points for themselves against the Swans.

Osei-Tutu was a surprise name on the Forest team sheet. Cooper had indicted in the week that he may play for the under-23s first as part of his rehabilitation.

The 23-year-old was in fine form and helped create the third goal; forcing a save out of the goalkeeper which allowed Johnson to tap home from three yards out.

Prior to yesterday, the versatile full-back had made just two appearances for the Reds. He was Man of the Match against Bournemouth but went off after 20 minutes against Blackburn in the very next game.

What have Arsenal and Forest stars said about Osei-Tutu?

Balogun could head out on loan during the January transfer window and the Championship seems a likely destination. Given Cooper’s record with younger players, it will be interesting to see if Forest are keen.

He summed up Osei-Tutu’s performance with an ice-cold emoji and just a single word.

Nketiah could earn a new deal at Arsenal, although he is out of contract in the summer. He also replied to Osei-Tutu’s Instagram message with two words.

Lyle Taylor and Brennan Johnson also offered some support to the youngster. Taylor said that he enjoyed sharing a pitch with him, whilst Brennan Johnson also sent praise.
