Nottingham Forest pair and player linked with CG transfer rave about 20-year-old star

Nottingham Forest blew Swansea away after a dominant second-half display saw the Reds put four past goalkeeper Ben Hamer. Brennan Johnson scored and registered an assist and after the game, he received praise from Morgan Rogers, Djed Spence and Jordi Osei-Tutu sent praise on Instagram.

Johnson has been in fine form during 2021/22. He has scored four goals and registered four assists, showcasing his worth to the club during his maiden campaign playing Championship football.

Last season was a learning curve for the forward. He spent the entire campaign on loan at Lincoln, scoring 13 goals and claiming 14 assists as the Imps were beaten in the League One play-off final.

His form saw him earn a shot at Forest and he was thrown straight into the team under Chris Hughton. That period was a difficult one for everyone at the City Ground; although Johnson has really kicked on since his departure.

The 20-year-old has attracted Premier League interest recently. As a result, the Reds are keen to tie their prized asset to a fresh contract to avoid a departure from taking place in January.

Johnson has previously been courted by Brentford, Leicester, Leeds and several other Premier League clubs. On current form, more could emerge as potential suitors during the January transfer window.

What have Rogers and the Forest duo said about Johnson?

It’s fair to say that the youngster has the respect of his teammates. Several have taken to Instagram to rave about his classy performance against Swansea yesterday.

Rogers is now at Bournemouth having been linked with a move to Forest in the summer. He’s yet to really get going at the Vitality Stadium since a loan move in the summer.

He played with Johnson last season at Lincoln, with the duo striking up quite a partnership and it’s no surprise to see both now at Championship clubs.

Osei-Tutu and Spence both lined up alongside Johnson for Forest yesterday and they too were impressed with his performance.
