Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis has emerged as a January transfer target for Nottingham Forest.

The Telegraph claim that the academy graduate is being eyed by the Reds who hold a desire to sign a younger striker.

Davis has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park and isn’t showing signs of challenging for a place in Steven Gerrard’s team.

As a result, the new Villans boss could be tempted to let the 23-year-old leave on loan once the window reopens.

Davis has scored six goals at senior level; although a lot of the football he’s played has come in the Premier League.

What the striker needs is some regular action in the Championship and Forest are weighing up whether or not to give him that opportunity.

Davis is yet to embark on a loan spell away from Villa Park and that looks like being the next stage of his development.

The youngster has made just one outing in the Premier League this season, coming on during the closing stages of a defeat to Southampton.

January could see him head out on loan though and Forest could move for the striker.

What have Aston Villa fans said about Forest interest in Davis?

It has to be said that the consensus is mixed among the fan base at Villa Park.

Some would like to see him head out on loan and come back ready to challenge for a place in the first team.

Others, however, would rather Villa simply let him leave on a permanent deal once the window reopens next month.

Davis looks almost certain to head out. If he does, Forest will hope to strike a deal with Villa over his £25,000-a-week wage.

Here is what Villa fans have had to say regarding Forest showing interest in Davis.
