Nottingham Forest are in the hunt for a new striker and Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun is on their list of potential targets.
According to The Telegraph, the Reds are keen to sign the Gunners talent who is set to leave the Emirates Stadium on loan in January.
The 20-year-old hasn’t played in the Premier League since August and he’s someway down the pecking order at Arsenal.
He has been performing for the under-23s, however. Balogun has scored 15 goals in 16 matches during 2021/22 but has outgrown development football.
Forest won’t be alone in their quest to sign the Arsenal talent. Other Championship clubs and possible some on the continent will compete to sign the starlet.
Balogun will be desperate to go out and play regular football and Forest should allow him to do that.
Steve Cooper has a proud record of nurturing young players and surely that will play into Arsenal’s thinking.
They will want to ensure that Balogun goes to the right club for his development ready for him to challenge at Arsenal next season.
The Reds have Lewis Grabban and Lyle Taylor as their two striker options and a young talisman is likely to be sought.
What have Forest fans said about interest in Arsenal talent Balogun?
It’s pretty conclusive that Reds supporters would welcome the powerful striker at the City Ground.
Interestingly, Arsenal could keep Balogun until the end of the January window and that could see him play against Forest.
