Nottingham Forest are willing to pay £8 million to sign New York City star Valentin Castellanos, according to The Sun.
Landing him won’t come easy though, with West Ham thought to be in the mix too, along with Besiktas.
The 23-year-old was the golden boot winner in the MLS last season; scoring an impressive 23 goals in all competitions as NYC were crowned US champions.

Dane Murphy is a huge fan of Castellanos and is now trying his level best to sign him for Forest.
In an interesting twist, Manchester City could also have a say.
MORE FOREST STORIES
It is claimed that Pep Guardiola is willing to let Castellanos come to the Etihad Stadium to train with the English champions.
The Argentine forward signed for New York from Uruguayan outfit Montevideo City Torque and he’s taken America by storm.
He scored in the play-off final at the weekend as his team defeated Portland Timbers on penalties to claim the big prize.
Forest will be in the market for a new striker. Lewis Grabban and Lyle Taylor are both in their thirties and a younger option will be sought.
The Reds have been linked with several loan options but not they’re in the mix for Castellanos.
Talented: Castellanos could be magical addition for Forest
The youngster is primed for a move to European football and perhaps he will be in his element in the Championship.

Murphy struck gold with several overseas players when he was at Barnsley and this could prove another masterstroke.
Castellanos knows where the back of the net is and as a result, if Forest can shake off their rivals, he could prove a sound investment for the future.
