Nottingham Forest fans have been massively upset by Rangers after a faux pas was tweeted from their official Twitter account on Wednesday.

The Light Blues have drawn supporters to the attention of a special occasion that is on the horizon at Ibrox.

In March 2022, they will apparently celebrate becoming the first major European club to reach their 150th anniversary.

Forest, however, twice European Cup winners, celebrated their 150th anniversary in 2016.

Now, of course, Forest are some way behind Rangers when it comes to discussing fortunes in the modern era.

Rangers won their domestic top-flight last season, whilst Forest narrowly staved off relegation to the third tier.

It is perhaps somewhat bizarre, however, that Rangers seem to have forgotten that Forest have actually won two European Cups.

Okay, they were a long time ago but calling yourself a ‘major European club’ when there is no European Cup on the roll of honour is somewhat rich.

Forest won the old competition in back-to-back campaigns during 1979 and 1980.

The Reds won the prestigious trophy when it was a straight knockout competition and dominated Europe under Brian Clough.

What Forest fans said about Rangers

It’s fair to say that their tweet has left some fans baffled. Plenty of supporters who were around all those years ago are certainly unimpressed.

Forest do perhaps deserve a little more respect from Rangers; especially considering they haven’t won the European Cup in their history.

A lot of the comments have been quick to praise Rangers but do concede their Tweet is somewhat bizarre.

Here is what the Forest fan base had to say.
