Nottingham Forest face competition from Premier League clubs Leeds United and Watford for the services of Jed Wallace, according to The News.
Forest have already seen two bids rejected for the 27-year-old. Now, they may have to get serious with another bid as Premier League clubs circle.
Wallace is a proven Championship performer. He has claimed six assists during 2021/22 and has shone at Millwall over the past few years.
The Lions find themselves between a rock and a hard place. Wallace will be out of contract in the summer and he could leave the New Den on a free transfer.
Ultimately, they’d dearly love to keep him. Besiktas has offered the player a pre-contract to move to Turkey in the summer and the player will be aware of vast interest.
Letting him leave on a free doesn’t make sense. Millwall are in the mix for a play-off place, however, and losing Wallace would be detrimental to those aspirations.
Leeds’ interest is interesting. Millwall and the Whites have a long-standing history and Wallace heading to Elland Road won’t go down well among the supporters.
The Lions are in a tricky position though and Leeds, Forest and Watford are all firmly in the mix to sign the Championship star.
Perfect: Wallace is perfect for Forest
Quite simply, Forest have to up the ante. Wallace is tailor-made for Steve Cooper’s 3-4-3 system and his presence in the team could be telling.
The Reds have done well to creep into play-off contention. When Cooper arrived, Forest were at the bottom of the Championship with just four points from eight matches.

Now they have a genuine chance to gatecrash the play-offs and the transfer window is likely to be crucial.
Keinan Davis and Steve Cook are pretty decent additions. Another attacking option wouldn’t go amiss though and Wallace would be a brilliant signing.
Forest simply have to beat Leeds and Watford to the signing of Wallace this month.
