Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper has named his team to play Arsenal in the FA Cup this evening, as per the club’s official Twitter account.

The full match squad is as follows:

Nottingham Forest starting XI: Samba; Worrall, Cook, McKenna; Spence, Garner, Yates, Colback; Johnson, Zinckernagel, Davis.

Substitutes: Horvath, Figueiredo, Grabban, Carvalho, Bong, Cafu, Silva, Ojeda, Taylor.

Nottingham Forest v Arsenal: What’s the story?

Steve Cooper led Swansea to a 5-1 win over Forest in last year’s FA Cup. This season he will be hoping to see Forest past Arsenal and into the fourth round.

That won’t be easy. Forest will face an Arsenal side who have been vastly improved of late; even if they did lose against Manchester City last time out.

The Reds will hopefully use history to motivate them. In 2018, Forest edged out Arsenal 4-2 at the City Ground to send Arsene Wenger’s holders out of the competition.

Of course, both teams will look very different today and Forest will face a stern test.

Mikel Arteta said in the week that he is struggling for bodies ahead of this game. His team’s game against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup was called off on Thursday night.

As a result, Forest could face a strong team than they might have hoped today. Arteta will be keen for some of his players to shake off the ring rust ahead of future challenges.

Arsenal are currently fourth in the Premier League and today’s game will be a tough one for Forest.

Broadcast details

Tonight’s game is live on ITV, with coverage beginning at 4:30pm.

Mark Pougatch will be joined by Ian Wright and Roy Keane ahead of the live coverage.

The game will, of course, be broadcast live on BBC Radio Nottingham too.

Fan reaction to Forest team picked to play Arsenal

It would seem as though plenty of fans are happy with the team picked by Cooper.

It’s a strong side that has been selected and now it’s time for the Reds to try and prove themselves against top-flight opposition.
