Nottingham Forest knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup on Sunday, with Philip Zinckernagel once again in fine form. After the game, Udinese player Isaac Success, Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson posted supportive messages on Instagram.
A Lewis Grabban strike seven minutes from time proved enough for Forest. It was exactly what the Reds deserved after a truly dominant second half, which saw Bernd Leno make three decent saves.
Zinckernagel arrived at Forest in the summer. Watford chose to loan him out following their promotion to the Premier League and Chris Hughton moved quickly.
- BOOST: Forest handed boost in 27-year-old quest
The 27-year-old was added to the Hornets’ ranks in January 2021. He became an instant hit at Vicarage Road and helped the club win promotion last season.
Zinckernagel might have been disappointed not to get a crack at the top-flight. His performances for Forest have been positive though and he’s starred under Steve Cooper.
The Danish performer has made 26 appearances for the Reds this season. He has scored four goals and registered six assists and there looks to be more to come.
Zinckernagel is versatile to the point where he can play anywhere in attack. That has seen him flourish under Cooper and supporters have taken to him.
What have Success and the Forest duo said to Zinckernagel?
Zinckernagel is seemingly a popular member of the Forest dressing room. Spence and Johnson have both reacted on Instagram after his performance against Arsenal.
Spence has posted a heartfelt one-word message, with Johnson choosing two and an emoji to congratulate the Danish star.
Success played alongside Zinckernagel at Watford last season. The Nigerian was on loan at the Hornets last season, scoring once in 10 appearances.
He also picked one word to sum up Zinckernagel following the memorable night for Forest at the City Ground.
