Mohamed Drager has been a no-show for Nottingham Forest this season. He’s failed to play a single minute and now it would seem he’s out of favour for Tunisia at the AFCON.
Forest signed the right-back on transfer deadline day back in August. He has appeared just once, as an unused substitute during the 0-0 draw against West Brom back in November.
Djed Spence has been the team’s number one right-back. With full-backs in short supply though it has been a strange situation regarding Drager.

He’s spent some time injured and some time at various international tournaments with Tunisia. Right now, he’s part of their squad for the AFCON in Cameroon – or not, as it may seem!
Forest supporters settling down to watch Drager in action this afternoon will have been disappointed. The 25-year-old wasn’t named in Mondher Kebaier’s matchday squad as Tunisia lost 1-0 to Mali.
The game proved controversial too. The match referee blew for full time with five minutes remaining. He then rectified his error, sent off a Mali player and then blew the full-time whistle again; this time 40 seconds before the 90-minute mark.
Tunisia will also face Mauritania and Gambia in the group stages. Drager, however, was omitted today, and the ring rust will continue to stagnate on the Forest man.
Pointless: Drager is proving a really bizarre Forest signing
The signing of the former Olympiacos man stinks of Ioannis Vrentzos. Thankfully, it seems as though his input with regards to transfers is now a thing of the past.
Drager arriving at Forest has been utterly pointless. He’s yet to play a single game and quite frankly, he’s proved to be a waste of a wage.

Now it seems as though he’s in limbo on the international stage. To not be selected is a real blow, given that he was a regular at the recent Arab Cup.
It’s uncertain how long Drager has penned terms for the City Ground. In the wake of Richie Laryea signing, however, surely he’s already running out of time to make an impact at Forest.
