Nottingham Forest have added Andy Scott to their recruitment team, according to Football Insights on Twitter. The former Swansea staff member had been expected to link up with Chris Wilder at Middlesbrough.

Scott was backed for a switch to the Riverside Stadium last month. Football Insider ran an exclusive claiming that the former Swans man would be making the move north.

Forest look to have stolen a march though and handed Wilder a blow. It was thought, as per the report, that Scott had verbally agreed to go to Boro.

The former Brentford manager worked alongside Steve Cooper. It seems clear that should this news be accurate, the head coach was keen to reunite with the former head of recruitment.

Scott’s resume is pretty impressive. He oversaw quality additions to the Swansea squad such as Jamal Lowe and Ryan Manning, providing Cooper with the tools to reach the play-offs.

Forest are building a steady recruitment team. Chris Brass is at the club, whilst George Syrianos oversees the recruitment on the continent.

Scott will now add to a burgeoning department, with Dane Murphy keen to make a positive stamp on recruitment at the football club.

Forest progressing nicely behind the scenes and Scott will add something

Results are going great under Cooper at Forest. Perhaps more pleasing, however, is that the club appears to be moving in a better direction off the field.

For too long the Reds have been left behind. Average players have been signed, money has been wasted and as a result, mistakes have been made.

Errors arent in Murphy’s make up though and it’s a case of so far, so good. Scott is a reputable appointment and he’s been around the English game for a long time.

Cooper clearly knows him well and Scott looks like another positive appointment by Forest.
