Nottingham Forest defender Max Lowe made a comeback from injury yesterday as the Reds beat Derby County 2-1 at the City Ground. After the game, he received praise from Lyle Taylor and also got sent a hilarious message by Djed Spence.
Lowe has missed the last two months with a groin problem. He went off against Reading in November and hadn’t been seen since prior to yesterday’s East Midlands derby-day.
Since checking in from Sheffield United, Lowe has been a standout for Forest. He’s done well in the left wing-back role and yesterday he tormented his former club, Derby.
Lowe had fallen out of favour under Slavisa Jokanovic. Now, with Paul Heckingbottom in charge, it’s not particularly clear what the future holds for him at Bramall Lane.
The Reds would surely welcome the chance to sign him. He’s been a mainstay when fit throughout the season and has looked exceptional when called upon.
Lowe appears to be a popular member of the dressing room. He seems to link up with attacks well down the left-hand side and looks tailor-made to play in a Steve Cooper team.
What have Tayor and Spence said about Forest star Lowe?
Spence has poked fun at Lowe, claiming that he was never overly fond of Derby in the first place. The youngster came through the academy at Pride Park and made 48 first-team appearances for the club.
He spent time on loan at Aberdeen and Shrewsbury and also made 11 appearances for the Blades before moving to Forest.
Taylor was also impressed with Lowe during yesterday’s win. He posted a complimentary message following the contest at the City Ground.
Lowe will now hope to keep his place in the team and could start again on Tuesday when Barnsley arrive on Trentside.
