Forest secured the win thanks to Lewis Grabban and Brennan Johnson goals, with Tom Lawrence pulling a late goal back from the penalty spot.

Cooper’s fist pumps have become frequent at home, with the head coach going around all four corners of the ground.

Yesterday’s was special and the atmosphere on Trentside was really special.

Cooper has Forest on track

This was more than just a derby-day victory. It was a win that proved Forest have to be considered as serious contenders for a play-off place.

The Reds were up against a Derby team that had won four of their last five games and without the 21 point deduction, they would have been close to Forest in the division.

Cooper was forced to make a change to his formation after just half an hour. Derby were winning the battle but a switch to a back four gave Forest fresh impetus.
