Nottingham Forest defeated Derby County on Saturday to make it 10 unbeaten in games against the Rams. James Garner is on loan from Manchester United and after the game, supporters raved about him on Twitter.

Goals from Lewis Grabban and Brennan Johnson helped Forest to another famous win over their rivals. Tom Lawrence did pull a goal back for Derby from the penalty spot but otherwise, this was a pretty comfortable victory.

Ravel Morrison saw red deep into stoppage time. His late challenge on Philip Zinckernagel was deemed worthy of a red by referee Tim Robinson and he will now miss three matches.

It was Forest’s day though. The Reds dusted themselves down after a pretty low-key first-half and came roaring out in the second half.

Garner didn’t score at the weekend. He has showcased over the last month, however, exactly how far he can go in the modern game.

The 20-year-old has been remarkable for some time now. Not only is he display a superb passing radar, but he’s also winning tackles and competing for second balls in the midfield engine room.

Garner is highly rated by United. Some supporters were somewhat disappointed to see him loaned out once again in the summer and they’re happy he’s doing well at Forest.

What have fans said about Garner performing for Forest?

Both sets of fans have been pretty impressed with Garner. Forest fans are clearly delighted that his form has propelled the Reds into contention for a play-off place.

United fans are happy to see him performing well. They think he could be a big player for the Red Devils in future years and are also satisfied with his form.

Against Derby, he did stick the boot into a former United player in Wayne Rooney but plenty of Forest and United supporters think Garner is set for stardom.
