Nottingham Forest are edging closer to signing Blackpool winger Josh Bowler, according to the Blackpool Gazette.

The Tangerines had hoped that Forest had ended their pursuit of the 22-year-old following three failed bids during January.

Now, their worst fears look set to be realised with Forest getting extremely close to their Championship rivals’ asking price.

Bowler only signed for Blackpool in the summer. He has produced several eye-catching displays during the 2021/22 campaign and Forest are very keen.

The left-winger scored for the Tangerines on Saturday as they held high-flying Fulham to a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage.

Bowler is skilful, quick and works tremendously hard for his teammates, making him a stunning addition if Forest can pull it off.

The Reds have been after a number of wingers since the start of the window.

Alex Migthen and Joe Lolley are both out and right now Brennan Johnson and Philip Zinckernagel are working flat out.

Having one more to call upon would be ideal and Bowler would be a really useful addition for the Reds as they chase down a play-off place.

Quality: Bowler would be a brilliant signing for Forest

It seems as though supporters are unanimous when they say that Bowler would literally make for a superb piece of business by the Reds.

He is a quality player and when he played against Forest earlier this season his work rate and tricky both shone through.

Bowler could cost Forest less than £2 million and at 22 he has a massive future ahead of him, boasting bags of potential.

This deal would represent a really strong step in the right direction from all involved behind the scenes at Forest.
