Manchester City forward Morgan Rogers will be recalled from a loan spell from Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest are linked with a move for the teenager.

According to BBC Radio Manchester, the Citizens aren’t satisfied with the amount of game time Rogers has got during the first half of the 2021/22 campaign.

As a result, they will recall him today and send him straight out on another loan for the second half of the season.

Rogers was linked with Forest in the summer. Fans got excited in August when he was seen with a Reds shirt draped over his shoulders after a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth.

The youngster was snapped chatting with Brennan Johnson. Last season the pair struck up a lethal partnership at Lincoln as the Imps reached the League One play-off final.

Rogers has played just 219 minutes in the league this season. Scott Parker has preferred other options and his game time has been limited.

Last season, he was on fire. During his time at Lincoln, he scored six goals and claimed four assists from 28 outings for the Imps on the left flank.

Rogers linked up with Johnson to create five goals for Lincoln and the pair clearly have a decent track record when playing in the same team.

Huddersfield and Blackpool are also in the mix to sign Rogers before tonight’s deadline.

Talent: Rogers could be ideal for Forest

Given that Alex Mighten and Joe Lolley are injured, Rogers should get plenty of game time if he does join Forest at some point today.

The Reds have Philip Zinckernagel and Brennan Johnson but more options are required in the final third.

Moves to sign Josh Bowler or Jed Wallace are likely to take priority today. Both are integral to their clubs, however, and obtaining those players could be tricky.

Rogers represents a decent young talent. Furthermore, he’s a realistic option and he’d surely welcome the chance to sign for Forest for the remainder of the season.
