Nottingham Forest will make a final attempt to sign Jed Wallace from Millwall during transfer deadline day. According to Pete O’Rourke, the Reds will make another bid today after seeing three rejected already this month.
Forest were beaten 2-1 at Cardiff yesterday. The result highlighted a need for more attacking quality and Wallace is the primary target for Steve Cooper ahead of tonight’s deadline.
Millwall have stood firm on their star man so far. He has been nursing an injury to his thigh and hasn’t actually played for the Lions during the month of January.

Now, Forest are hoping to test their resolve once more. Wallace is a proven Championship performer and will make a fourth bid to try and snare the 27-year-old.
Despite missing the last month through injury, Wallace has been in fine form during 2021/22. He has scored five times and registered six assists, with Millwall enjoying a pretty decent campaign.
They are in limbo somewhat though. The Lions won’t want to see their star man leave for free and today is the last day they can recoup anything for Wallace.
It’s unsure how much Forest will bid but they’ll hope to finally breach Millwall’s resolve ahead of tonight’s cut-off.
Class: Wallace would be tip of the iceberg for Forest
What a signing Wallace would be for the Reds. He has been one of the division’s top-performing players in recent seasons and if Forest can land him, it would send out a message.
He has a wonderful delivery on him and his versatility to play in a number of positions would also make him perfect for Cooper.

- INTEREST: Forest want Newcastle man
With Alex Mighten and Joe Lolley both injured, Forest need to act. Brennan Johnson and Philip Zinckernagel will need periods of rest but right now, there is little in reserve.
Wallace would be a really useful addition to the Forest ranks and it could propel the club into play-off contention.
