Former Nottingham Forest loan star Jordi Osei-Tutu has made a surprise loan move from Arsenal to Rotherham United until the end of the campaign.
The Reds ended the youngster’s loan earlier this month after he picked up another unfortunate injury. He made four appearances for Forest but struggled badly to stay fit.
Osei-Tutu is clearly a talented player. He won the Man of the Match accolade during his Forest debut against Bournemouth but injury soon struck.
He lasted just 27 minutes of his next outing; a 2-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers and missed three months of action with a hamstring tear.
Osei-Tutu made a return to action in the 4-1 win over Swansea but broke down again in the next game against Hull City.
As a result, Forest chose to end his loan spell and return the player to Arsenal for him to continue his development.
Now, he joins Rotherham United who are vying for a place in the Championship next season.
Paul Warne is doing a smashing job at the New York Stadium and this must be viewed as a sizeable coup for the club.
Osei-Tutu has also spent time with Bochum and Cardiff, with the 23-year-old now hoping to finally kick on.
Luck: Osei-Tutu will hope for fortune after Forest spell
It’s such a shame how the youngster’s time at the City Ground ended. He was lively when called upon but ultimately the Reds made the right call.
Djed Spence and Max Lowe were always going to be first choice options at full-back and that didn’t bode well for the Arsenal man.
League One might be the ideal place for him to start trying to regain some form. Rotherham are in good form and confidence should be sky-high at the club.
Forest fans will monitor his progress with intrigue.
