Nottingham Forest are through to the fifth round of the FA Cup after destroying rivals Leicester City 4-1 at the City Ground this evening.

Steve Cooper’s men were absolutely outstanding, showing that the win over Arsenal in January was no fluke at all.

Philip Zinckernagel got the scoring started, tapping in from close range after a Keinan Davis nod-down.

Just seconds later, Brennan Johnson made it 2-0 with a cool finish past Danny Ward, with Leicester absolutely all over the place.

By the time Joe Worrall made it 3-0, Forest fans could have been forgiven for thinking they were in dreamland.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s goal back threatened to dampen spirits, but Djed Spence’s superb goal sealed a 4-1 victory.

Forest now meet Huddersfield Town in the next round but the focus for now will be on a simply incredible night on the banks of the Trent.

Cooper is working wonders at Forest and is side are now receiving huge plaudits – even from Leicester fan and legend Gary Lineker.

Lineker took to Twitter to state that Leicester’s display was a ‘debacle’, round off a ‘horrific’ few days for the Match of the Day host.

Lineker picked out right back Spence and winger Johnson for praise, claiming both players were ‘absolutely brilliant’ for Forest today.

Forest did receive congratulations from Lineker, claiming it was a well-deserved win – but did add a slight dig, suggesting it was a giant killing.

If anything, the Forest giant is awakening under Cooper.
